Meet Coach Gutierrez
Coach Gutierrez is the head softball coach at EPCC where she is entering her 15th season.The EPCC women are coming off a trip to the playoffs in 2023. The Tejanas softball team is a member of the Western Junior College Athletic Conference (WJCAC) of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).

As one of the all-time greats in El Paso Community College softball history, Katie Gutierrez knows what she wants to build as the Tejanas head coach.
She's happy to take the best players from wherever she can get them, but, ultimately, Gutierrez wants a team built around local players who feel a special rush of pride at having "El Paso" at the front of their school name.
When the Tejanas load up the bus Thursday and head off to the Region V West tournament in Lubbock as the No. 5 seed, 10 of the 15 players who will represent them are from El Paso.
"I believe their hard work, dedication and work ethic are what drives this team," said Gutierrez, an All-American in 2000 for a team that won a national championship and before that, an Eastwood graduate.
